Library Access and Library Card
Everybody can use the library’s various offers, and it is free of charge.
You use your medical card as your library card.
You can only borrow materials on your own personal medical card.
Children under the age of 14 can either use their medical card or have a special library card issued to them.
If your medical card or your library card is lost or stolen, you should inform the library as soon as possible.
Your card is then blocked for further lending to avoid any misuse.
Loan Periods
The standard loan period is 1 month. Certain types of materials have a loan period of only 14 days. You can always see what the loan period is on your loan receipt. Your can renew your loans if the materials have not been reserved by other borrowers. If we have ordered materials for you from another library the rules of that library applies. You can use our self-service to get an overview of what you have borrowed or renew your materials yourself. This requires a PIN-code whitch you can obtain at the library.
Reservations
If a material is out, you can reserve it. When the material has been returned, we will notify you either by mail, E-mail or SMS.
Loan Registration
Our computer system registers all loans and returns. When you borrow materials we give you a receipt showing what you have borrowed and the return date(s). When you return materials you can ask for a receipt showing what you have returned.
Responsibility for Borrowed Materials
You are responsible for the materials you borrow. If they are damaged or lost, you will have to pay compensation. The compensation amount will usually be the library's actual purchase price for replacements plus a surcharge for binding of the material. Replaced materials belong to the library. If the replaced material is still in print you can keep it once compensation has been paid. Within a period of 2 years the compensation amount can bee refunded to you if you return the material and show your receipt for payment of compensation. The library assumes no responsibility for damages to your own hardware or software in connection with the use of borrowed materials.
